Mark Ham, Mackenzie Wasner, Julie Lavery & Aaron Bucks- 10.15.21
Mackenzie Wasner is an up-and-coming country music artist who is turning heads with powerhouse vocals that are both fresh and somehow classic, evoking the sound of greats like Dolly Parton. A “homegrown” singer/songwriter, Mackenzie is from historic Leipers Fork, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. She was born and raised in the world of country music thanks to multiple of her family members including her father, Pete Wasner who was Vince Gill’s pianist of over 30 years and a singer/songwriter himself. At just 14, Mackenzie sang alongside Gill at The Mother Church of Country Music, the Ryman Auditorium. At age 17, the judges on Season 12 of American Idol lauded her “star power” and “gorgeous” voice as they unanimously sent her to Hollywood. A seasoned live performer, Mackenzie has opened for Amy Grant, Michael McDonald, Jodee Messina and Vince Gill, among others. She is currently crafting new songs, playing shows in the southeast and pursuing her dream to become a country music recording artist. She released her 2nd single this year titled “Love Brings You Home” cowritten with hit songwriter, Leslie Satcher. Mackenzie feels truly blessed by all of the great opportunities she has enjoyed to this point, and is excited to see what the future holds! Keep up with her online at www.mackenziewasnermusic.com and on social media. Mackenzie Wasner is one to watch!

Julie Lavery was born and raised right outside of Boston, MA. She graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2010 where she studied songwriting and performance under some of the greats including, Livingston Taylor, Jack Perricone, Henry Gaffney and Pat Pattison.
Right after graduation, Julie moved to Orlando, FL for her first paid gig as Ariel in, “The Voyage of the Little Mermaid.” Wanting to pursue her dreams of writing and performing original music, Julie moved to Los Angeles and met up with her future husband Spencer Broschard. They started a band together called The Running Mates and had success via YouTube with over 150k subscribers and upwards of 10 million views.
Never good at sitting still, when the world came to a halt in 2020 Julie moved to Nashville, TN to pursue a career in songwriting. With over a hundred recently finished songs she decided to use her down time in quarantine to check off a bucket list dream and record her first ever solo releases. Everything was performed, recorded and produced (by Spencer Broschard) right from the home studio. Her debut single, “The Answer” (inspired by her Catholic upbringing) is a powerful introduction into her songwriting. “No one knows where we go after we die, it’s classified. We say our lines. Drink the wine. Lie and cheat. Repent, repeat.” Lyrically, she will have you pondering her words long after the song has ended. Her singles are available everywhere music is streamed.
Presently, you can catch her singing at a writers round in Nashville or re-arranging a song on Tik Tok in her popular series “Songs in Disguise.” Keep an eye out for this upcoming songwriter.
