Cory Fisher 8.10.19
Growing up listening to a wide range of music is exactly what created what the world knows as Cory Fisher. Cory was nurtured into loving soulful grooves and funky riffs which is exactly what you will hear when you dive into his songwriting. With the influences of both his mother’s and father’s musical tastes, he soaked up all he could from The Doobie Brothers, Journey, and Alter Bridge, along with many others. Cory was at the meer age of thirteen when he decided to teach himself how to play guitar to perform along side of his friends in a band for their school talent show. There is no denying his guitar playing was self taught because of the emotion he presents when he plays.
Songwriting was soon to follow once Cory was playing music for himself. With a tasty blend of rock, soul, and funk, each original song has a fresh take on the influences he grew up on. To continue the progression of his craft, Cory attended Middle Tennessee State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Commercial Songwriting. While attending college, he was also touring all across the United States playing guitar for artists. Touring helped to develop Cory as a live performer and consequently has made his shows a must-see experience.
“I want my shows to not only be entertaining, but to also be an emotional experience. Emotions really drive my performances and I try to convey that through singing, guitar playing, dynamics, or the stories I tell. I want the audience to truly feel what I feel every time I sing a tune.”
Above all, Cory’s voice is what sets him apart. His vocal range and broad dynamics show for the years of hard work that has been put into the development of him as an artist. The soulful melodies and vocal runs presented in his songs will make any person melt. The old school influence and his retro playing style makes his music interesting to the newer generation while bringing back a sound that hasn’t been common for a long time.
